Technical Check

Technical CheckChecking Your Computer's Readiness:

To test your computer's readiness for a live online session or recording, please complete the following three technical checks.

1.
Sound Check:

If your speakers or headphones are on, click the triangular play button below (If you see a grey area for the button, I am sorry but your filter is blocking the playsound site.) You should hear audio playing. If you do, you should be all set to hear the live webcast audio during the live event. Proceed to Step 2.

Troubleshooting: If you do not hear the audio, please check that your headphones or speakers are connected properly, and that your computer volume is turned up. You may need to click the triangular play button to the right to re-start the audio (it will only play for about 90 seconds on this page). If you do not see the green audio control buttons above, you may not have the Flash player installed. Click here to see if you have the Flash Player.

Tip: If you want to have the opportunity to use the audio feature instead of the chat feature in a live session, please make sure you have a microphone headset to enable you the ability to talk and hear while in a session. Use the configuration room to test your audio before a session.

Selecting the right microphone

DO NOT use a built-in computer microphone due to the feedback they cause for everyone!

2.
Virtual ELive Computer Configuration Check:

Test your computer to ensure you can connect to a ELive session (Elluminate Live!).

Check Now

Click the "check now" button above. A new window will open and a computer technical check will begin to run. After the check is complete, to verify your computer has passed the test, look center of the page for a message that indicates: "Congratulations, you appear to have the required software to launch Elluminate Live!". If you see that message, you are all set! If not, follow the on-screen instructions.

3.
Virtual ELive Room Access Check:

Test your computer to ensure you can connect to a ELive room. Use the configuration room to test your access for any firewalls that may be in place.
